| Hondo In His Younger Days |
Hondo came to Sampson Hill Redbones from Hill's Sierra Red
Kennels in Stockton, California.
He is a half brother to our Vindicator & uncle to our Legend, Sadie, Vinessa and Little
Vin.
Hondo is OW Hill's pride and joy. Here's a short story
of how Hondo found his way from California to Maine.....
Christmas Eve 2003, we received a call from OW, telling us
his health was declining and he was worried about his dogs. At the time, Hondo and Tulsa were the remaining two redbones
OW had in his kennel.
OW and Dave have built a strong relationship over the past
years and with no reserve, we knew what we would do. Hondo and Tulsa would always have a forever home with us at Sampson
Hill Redbones. When OW asked if we would care for his dogs, there was no doubt they'd have a home here. Without
hesitation, we assured OW they would have a caring and loving home with us along with the other Sierra Hill dogs we have grown
to love.
Our goal is to preserve the line of redbones OW has built.
This line is carries exceptional conformation and big game instinct.
We are proud and honored to be able to continue the OW Hill Sierra line of dogs.

Hondo has a very impressive pedigree.
His sire, GRCH PR Hill's Sierra Red Rambler was named the 1992 Overall
Best Redbone of Breed at the World Show Championship.
His dam, WSHOWCH GRCH PR
Hill's Sierra Red Queen is the ONLY redbone female to date that has EVER won the Overall World Show Champion
title (1992). That same year, she also won at the Winter Classic!
His grandsire, GRCH PR Hill's Sierra Red Commando was named the 1990 Overall Best of Redbone Breed at the World Show Championship.
His great-grandsire, GRCH PR Hill's Sierra Red Ace was named the 1985
Overall Best of Redbone Breed at the World Show Championship.
Several of Hondo's littermates have also done their share of winning.
The most notable wins are with Prince who is a
