Sierra is from our very first litter at Sampson Hill Redbones - the Hondo
and Missy breeding. Although we've done stud breedings with our boys in the past, this is the first litter we have raised!
WIth 8 female pups in this litter, choosing just one was a touch decision!
Each of these pups have qualities not to be overlooked. After alot of discussing and going back and forth on several
of the girls, we finally chose Sierra (formerly named Ellen).
Sierra's name is significant to us for a couple of reasons.
First, our goal at Sampson Hill Redbones is to carry the OW Hill's Sierra line
of dogs into the future. This girl will carrying the Sierra name with pride.
Second, we chose Sunrise to signify a new beginning. When this litter
was a week old, we suffered a devastating blow - we lost our Legend unexpectedly.
We chose a name for Sierra that would represent the positive rather than dwell
on the negative of our loss.
Our Sampson Hill Sierra Sunrise will carry us into the future with pride -
and continue the legacy we are working hard to preserve.
